The Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade started in the early 1920s when local gondolier J. Scarpa installed lighting on his gondola. Scarpa might be surprised at what this humble begining was soon to become. Entrants in the 104 th Newport Beach Harbor Christmas Boat Parade spending over $50,000 to decorate their vessels for the event. It's a popular Newport Harbor tradition, the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade has also been ranked one of the country's top holiday happenings by the the media. Every Christmas Newport boasts the largest harbor parade in California, with 100's of boats, cruising our harbor with Christmas lighting to turn night into day. Rates : $26.00 for adults, $22.00 seniors children 11 and under are $10.00 . Group and charter rates available.
Not so fine print:
The Fun Zone Boat Company "Parade of Lights" Tours leave our docks at the Fun Zone Balboa, 25 minutes after the hour. To insure our guests receive the promised viewing time the boats will leave on time. We suggest you allow for anticipated parking and traffic congestion. Please plan to check in with your Captain and be ready to board at least 15 minutes prior to departure. If you miss the boat, we will not be able to issue refunds or honor passes as most tours sell out during the Newport Beach Bay Boat Parade. We will however exchange for passes on our daily tour of equal value if the boat needs to depart without you.
