Our Newport Harbor Cruise company began offering speed boat rides, boat rental, paddle board rentals and Harbor tours of Newport Beach California Harbor and Bay in 1948. Now known as the Fun Zone Boat Company, we still operate seven days a week from the same location. Our vessels depart on the hour from the Harbor Cruise boat docks adjacent to the Balboa Ferry. M.V. Belle
  
The Newport Beach Harbor based M.V. Belle is a good choice for those small intimate lunch or dinner cruises, anniversaries or any other special events. She can accommodate 49 guests and crew. Our Belle has an "offshore" U.S.C.G inspection and rating. The Belle is a very stable out of the harbor eco tour boat as well. She has a comfortable ride in or outside of the bay. Need a boat to cruise to Dana Point? The Belle of Balboa is a very good fit. The Belle is perfect for our Sunset Cruise and for that small group private Newport Beach Harbor event as well. Ideal for that 15-20 passenger brunch up to a 49 passenger tour. The Belle, Queen and Showboat are the vessels of our fleet where the beverage service may be provided by the guest.

M.V. Showboat
Newport Beach Harbor's finest double deck tour boat. U.S.Coast Guard licensed for 99 guests and crew - a great 20-50 guest dinner boat. The Show Boat offers the best view of the Newport Beach Harbor from the upper deck. A very good cheese and wine tour, sight seeing boat.

M.V. Queen
U.S.C.G licensed for 99 guests - Our group tour workhorse. Two bus loads, guides and crew, fit comfortably. Our Queen, still offers best value for Newport Harbor and Bay boat charter group trips and excursions. The Queen is our commercial tour operator and pre school sea lion tour favorite. Over the years the Queen has proven to be our passengers' favorite Sunset Cruise Boat ... long live the Queen.

M.V. Tiki "TikiBoat"
  
Newport Beach Harbors first charter boat - The M.V. Tiki bears a casual atmosphere and a striking resemblance to a tropical rain forest. Tiki Boat is a double deck party boat from bow to stern, and can accommodate 120 guests comfortably for a private function. On the lower deck, there are facilities for a DJ or small band, a dance area, tables and chairs, which can be arranged for dining. Once inside the facilities present more like a Tiki room or Tiki club venue than boat. The majority of the boat is enclosed with an outside area around the perimeter of the upper deck. The M.V. Tiki is most commonly used for our Newport Beach Harbor Charters, when she is not "working" a charter having fun,fun,fun. Tiki Boat may be seen on the bay offering a Sunset Tour. Our Tiki Boat U.S.C.G. licensed for 149 passengers & crew.

S.V. Dulcinea
We often get requests for private charter large Sail Boats. Although not part of our company, Dulcinea has a great reputation, and is my favorite Whale Watch platform. Without engines or sonar - Whales have come right to the boat (link to news - whale watching noise impact story) and some scientific background (link) and (link).
Captain Don is also a pinch hitter on our daily harbor cruise and charter captain line up - when he is not out gunk holing out in the channel islands, you may see him at the wheel of our Belle or Sunset Cruise. Dulcinea rents for $210.00 per hour - 3hr minimum - six passenger maximum. Captain Don said he would toss in the soft drinks for free if you mention "Fun Zone Boats" or use the response form and we will forward it to him - please specify "Dulcinea" in your note. On the odd hours: 11,1,3 and added 5 & 7pm departures in season.
Tour #1 - we cruise out to the harbor entrance to spot California Sea Lions(and passing migrating Gray Whales in season) in their natural environment. $14.00 adults $11.00 senior $7.00 kids

Christmas "Parade of Lights Tour"
The Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade started in the early 1920s when local gondolier J. Scarpa installed lighting on his gondola. Scarpa might be surprised at what his simple act has spawned, with some entrants in today's Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade spending over $50,000 to decorate their vessels for the event. It's a popular Newport Harbor tradition, the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade has also been ranked one of the country's top holiday happenings by the the media. Every Christmas Newport boasts the largest harbor parade in California, with 100's of boats, cruising our harbor with Christmas lighting to turn night into day. Tickets on sale now.
